Community Token

Overview

A community token for Strike was created on flap.sharrow-up-right by members of the BNB degen community. We want to be transparent about what this token is and what it isn't.

What You Should Know

This is not an official Strike token.

Strike has not launched a token. The community token on flap.sh is an independent initiative created by community members. It was not designed, deployed, or endorsed by the Strike team. The locked LP and its trading fees are separate from Strike protocol operations.

We're grateful for the enthusiasm and support from the BNB community. It's a reflection of the energy around what we're building.

Why This Token Cannot Become the Official Strike Token

Even setting aside the question of whether Strike will ever launch a token, there are concrete reasons why this community token could not be adopted as one.

Legal. The Strike team had no involvement in the creation or deployment of this token. Adopting it retroactively would raise serious legal and regulatory questions around liability, securities classification, and distribution. That is not a position we can put the project in.

The token name is fixed. The token is named "Hackathon Runner-Up" and that name cannot be changed. It does not represent the project, and we cannot build an official token narrative around a name we did not choose and cannot modify.

We had no input on tokenomics. Supply, distribution, and allocation were all decided without the Strike team's involvement. An official token requires careful design of these parameters. Inheriting tokenomics we had no hand in is not feasible.

An airdrop campaign is not viable. The structure of this token does not lend itself to a meaningful airdrop campaign to our users or community. Any future token distribution would need to be designed from the ground up with that goal in mind.

Our Position on Tokens

Strike currently has no plans to launch an official token.

We're focused on delivering the protocol to mainnet. That is the priority. Any decision about a future token, if one is ever made, will be announced officially through our channels and documented here.

A Note on Future Plans

If Strike does launch an official token at some point in the future, we recognise that community token holders took an early bet on the project. We would explore ways to acknowledge that, whether through an airdrop, a migration path, or another mechanism.

This is not a commitment or guarantee. No terms exist yet, and nothing has been decided. We're simply saying: we see you, and we wouldn't forget it.

Holder Tracking

We are already tracking community token holder addresses, balances, and holding durations on-chain. This data is being recorded passively and will be incorporated into any future points programme, should one be introduced.

Holding earlier and longer will be reflected in any such programme. No action is required from holders — the data is captured automatically from on-chain state.
